Thank you for your interest in Excalibur!

This demonstration version of Excalibur! II will not run on your BBS.
The modem routines and the routines which read and save the specific playing
data files have been disabled. However, the game is fully functional on
your PC for a single episode of play, and you will be able to try out a
large number of the game's functions so that you can get a feel of what it
would be like to run the game on your BBS.
Load the XCDEMO.EXE file into any directory you wish. While in the same
directory, create a subdirectory called XC2 (for example, if you are in a
subdirectory called C:\FILES copy the XCDEMO.EXE file into it, and create
a subdirectory of FILES called XC2 whose full pathname would be C:\FILES\XC2
and copy the *.XCL files into it.
To run the game, go into the directory where you placed the XCDEMO.EXE
file and type XCDEMO and press enter. The game should run, and assign
you a demonstration identity in the game. You can play just as if you had
the authorized version of the game, except that none of your actions will be
saved to the files.
Up to 55 users of your BBS will be able to play the licensed version.
To obtain a licensed version, the editor, and all associated files, send
$20 to:

Include the name of your BBS, the type of software you are using (make
sure to tell me if you use a CHAIN.TXT file or a DORINFO1.DEF file to pass
user information), the name (handle) you use as sysop, and of course, your
mailing address. I will send the game to you in ZIPped format on a 5.25"
DSDD diskette, 3.5" on request. Type O at the Camelot menu or from the
Questing menu for further information, and consult the file SYSOPDOC.XC2
for a better understanding on the installation procedure and support files.

                         HAPPY QUESTING
