Readme for ANIPLAY 9.9.93

A shareware *.FL* file viewer for flics created by Animator [Pro] and
3D-Studio.

Note:

This is only a very short and very basic information. Not original by
Autodesk nor Yost group but by myself.

You must keep a RESOURCE subdirectory beneath the directory containing
aniplay.exe. RESOURCE contains various display drivers and miscellaneous
stuff used to display still images as well.

aa.cfg in the same directory as aniplay.exe is a configuration file that
holds information about the current display configuration. If the
program doesn't work after changing display drivers, feel free to delete
aa.cfg. In that case, the next time you start aniplay it displays a
message about not being configured and comes up with its built-in driver
(320x200 resolution). Also, a new aa.cfg gets created.

HOW do you change display drivers?
Start aniplay, move the mouse to the file menu, select screen size in
the drop-down menu. In that popup, you'll see all the *.drv files in
the RESOURCE subdirectory. At that time, each *.drv file gets polled
for identification and capability information. So, if a *.drv file
happens, NOT to be a valid animator driver file you may get stuck.
If you encounter problems using the screen size dialog, rename the
files you think are causing the problem. To be sure, also delete the
aa.cfg file mentioned above. Then start anew. That way you should be
able to track down the file causing trouble.

Of course, I suggest you use the ELSA WINNER1000 board as your graphics
adapter. The resource directory holds a 1ELSAWIN.drv which happens to
have been written by myself and is really FAST. You do need a WINNER1000
to use it. That board is based on the S3 928 chip and has up to 2MB of
VRAM.
