UPJOY(TM) INSTALLATION GUIDE

Copyright (C) 1993, BIGGUN International. All Rights Reserved.

Patent Pending

System requirements:
Microsoft(R) Windows(TM) 3.1

NOTE: UPJOY is NOT compatible with Microsoft's IBMJOY.DRV, but both
drivers can be installed on one system.

Use Control Panel to install UPJOY: Control Panel can be started from
the Main group of Program Manager or run from Program Manager as FILE |
RUN CONTROL.EXE (located in the Windows directory).

Double click on the Drivers Applet of Control Panel. Click Add. From the
list of drivers, select Unlisted or Updated Driver. When you're prompted
to insert the disk with the unlisted, updated or vendor-provided driver,
specify the path where the UPJOY files are located. Control Panel looks
for the OEMSETUP.INF file in that path. Click OK to copy the UPJOY.DRV
driver, SETUPJOY.CPL Applet, and this UPJOY.HLP help file to the Windows
system directory. After a successful installation, SYSTEM.INI should
have an entry for UPJOY similar to the following example:

[Drivers]
UPJOY=UPJOY.DRV
other=other.drv

While you're in Control Panel, check that you have a Timer Driver
installed. If not, use the Drivers Applet to install one.

For more information on installing drivers, see Chapter 5 of the
"Microsoft Windows User's Guide" - "Installing a Driver Not Supplied
with Windows".

UPJOY.DRV displays a welcome message after Control Panel copied it. To
see if all files were copied; Close and then Restart Control Panel so
that it can load the UPJOY Applet and display its icon. Double click on
the icon and choose Test. Clicking Help should display some help.

Manual Installation:
If you don't have the UPJOY OEMSETUP.INF file or the UPJOY Applet says
that UPJOY.DRV is unavailable, do the following:

Copy the UPJOY.DRV, SETUPJOY.CPL and UPJOY.HLP files to the Windows
system directory. Edit the SYSTEM.INI in the Windows directory and type
UPJOY=UPJOY.DRV under the [Drivers] section. (See the example above)

The sample JET source code, JET.EXE and the FLASH.EXE demo program can
be copied manually. These files aren't part of UPJOY as such, but are
UPJOY "clients", demonstrating some of UPJOY's capabilities.

See the online help, UPJOY.HLP for more information.
